Who is behind HomeCloak
A homeowner who searched his own address.

I'm Josh Johnston. I bought a house, and a few weeks later I looked up my new address the way a stranger would. The old listing was still up with every room photographed. Three map services showed my front door. And 931 people-search sites and data brokers had my name tied to the address, most of them selling it for a few dollars.
The data-removal services I found all skipped the house. They handle your name, not your home, and they charge per person. So I built the thing I wanted: one plan that sends the broker requests, assists you in getting the listing photos down, walks you through the map blurs, and keeps checking that it all stays down. Three weeks in, 482 of those 931 were resolved. That is the account the ads show.
HomeCloak is a small company on purpose. I read the broker replies. I answer the support email. When something is confusing in the app, the “Tell the founder” button goes to me.
The company
HomeCloak, LLC, a Texas limited liability company based in Plano, Texas. The HomeCloak name is on file with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (filed August 30, 2026).
What we never ask for
Your Social Security number, a copy of your ID, or your date of birth. A removal request needs your name, your address, and a signed authorization letter. That is it.
Your ownership document
The utility bill or deed you upload proves the home is yours. It is checked, stored encrypted, and never sent to any site or broker.
The guarantee
60 days in and your home still isn't cloaked? One email from your account address and the first payment comes back in full. No form, no call.
Reach a person
Email privacy@homecloak.us and you get a reply from me, usually the same business day. Customers also have the feedback button inside the app and on the dashboard.
